Top 5 Questions:

1) What hardware and software do I need to use for online games?

Each game has individual systems requirements, which you can view on the game’s landing page. However, for general site use, we recommend the following hardware and software components.
Windows:

  • Windows 2000, XP, or Vista
  • Processor of 500 MHz or faster (1 GHz recommended)
  • 128 MB RAM (512 MB RAM recommended)
  • 3D Video Card w/ 32 MB RAM (for 3D Content)
  • Browsers: Internet Explorer 5.0 or above; Netscape 4.75 or above

Macintosh:

  • Macintosh OS 8.6 or above (some content may not function on OSX)
  • 500 MHz or faster processor (1 GHz recommended)
  • 128 MB RAM (512 MB RAM recommended)
  • 3D Video Card w/ 32MB RAM (for 3D Content)
  • Browsers: Internet Explorer 5.0 or above; Netscape 7 or above, Safari 1.0 and above

We do not support the use of Windows 98 or earlier, Windows Me, Windows NT, Macintosh 8.x or earlier, Linux, Solaris, Unix, IRIX, or other operating systems. We also do not support TV-based or game-based systems (WebTV, etc.). While you may be able to successfully use our site with any of these operating systems, we do not offer technical support for them.

 2) How do I install a game?

Most games have similar installation processes. You may select "download free trial" button from the game's main page to download the game's installer onto your hard drive. Or, if you purchased the game, you may use the download URL provided in the registration email sent to you or through the confirmation page you see after you purchase a game. Download the installer file, which will be an *.exe file (Windows) or *.sit file (Macintosh), directly onto your hard drive. We recommend downloading the installer to your Desktop, documents folder, or other easy-to-find location.

If you experience difficulty downloading, please use the same link or URL to try your download again free of charge. Click here for tips and suggestions on successful downloading.

To install your game, wait until the entire installer file has finished saving to your hard drive. Close all other applications, but remain connected to the Internet. Locate the *.exe or *.sit file you just downloaded, and double click it. Read each screen that appears and follow the instructions as they are given.

Installation Notes For Macintosh OS X:

  • If the *.SIT file does not automatically "unstuff" itself into a *.DMG file, just download it to your Desktop. Then use Stuff It Expander to unstuff the *.DMG file yourself. Stuff It Expander may re-name the file with a *.DMG.1 extension, which can't run. If this happens, re-name the file extension back to just *.DMG, then run it.
  • If you're making more than one attempt to download, delete the first copy of the file before downloading the second. When you download a file that already exists, it will re-name itself with a *.DMG.1 extension, which can't run. If this happens, re-name the file extension back to just *.DMG, then run it.
  • If you try to run the installer when the game is already installed, it won't work. ("DMG failed to mount due to error 35. The image is already in use.") If you need to run the installer again, make sure you have uninstalled the game first.

3) Which browsers are recommended for best results?

For best results, we recommend Internet Explorer 6.0, Firefox 1.x or Netscape 6 or higher. Internet Explorer 6 or higher. We do not support the use of CompuServe, Opera, iCab, or other browsers. While any of these browsers may be able to load the site successfully, we do not offer technical support for them.
